Service · Integrity · Excellence

A college in Tabontabon, Leyte, founded in 2003 so that students from this town and the ones around it could study without tuition standing in the way. Three degree programmes, every enrolled student on scholarship.

Welcome to Colegio de Sta. Lourdes

A college built by someone who couldn’t afford college.

Dr. Rustico “Rusty” Balderian left Tabontabon in 1971 at fifteen, the son of a sari-sari store owner. He worked as a factory hand, a street vendor and a private driver while studying, finishing optometry and then medicine at Manila Central University. In 2003 he came home and opened this college on one condition: nobody would be turned away for money.

  • Three four-year degrees, two of them leading to a licensure examination
  • Supervised practicum in every programme — hospital, agency or a student’s own enterprise
  • Placements arranged by the college, not left to the student
  • Scholars maintain a 2.00 general average with no grade below 2.50

Academics

Programs offered

Nursing is what the college was founded to teach. Criminology and Entrepreneurship have since joined it — three four-year degrees, all on the same campus, all on scholarship.

Practicum

Learning where the work happens

Every programme puts students into real practice before they graduate — but the shape of that practice is different in each one.

Nursing — clinical

Related Learning Experience

1,080 hours of hospital, rural health unit and community duty, supervised by a clinical instructor at a ratio of 1:8, with a procedure log signed for the PRC.

Criminology — agency

Agency practicum

Duty with police and correctional agencies, the log countersigned by the agency itself. Hours count only once the agency signs them off.

Entrepreneurship — enterprise

Run a real business

Each student registers and operates their own enterprise, assessed against milestones by a review panel rather than by hours on a placement.

Apply to Sta. Lourdes

Applications are reviewed on academic record and interview. Financial need does not count against you here — it is assumed. Every student who is admitted studies on scholarship.

Step one

What to prepare

Bring originals and one photocopy of each. If a document is still being processed by your school, apply anyway and tell us in the form — we will hold your slot.

  • Form 138 (Senior High School report card) and Form 137
  • PSA birth certificate
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character from your last school
  • Two recent 2×2 photos with white background
  • Medical clearance and immunisation record — needed before your first hospital duty, not before you apply
  • Transferees: Transcript of Records and an Honorable Dismissal

The process

From application to enrolment

1

Submit the form

Fill in the form below. You will see a reference number on screen — write it down.

2

We confirm your slot

The admissions office contacts you with your exam date, time and what to bring.

3

Exam and interview

Both are held on campus on the same day. Bring your documents and a valid ID.

4

Enrol

Admitted applicants receive an enrolment checklist and a deadline. The registrar issues your COR.

Tuition and fees

What it costs to study here

Fill this in with your current figures. Even if tuition is fully covered, families still want to know about uniforms, RLE fees, books, board and lodging, and PRC-related costs in the final year. Being specific here removes the single biggest reason people never inquire.

Note for whoever builds this site. This form validates and shows a confirmation, but a plain HTML page cannot deliver submissions anywhere on its own. Before launch, connect it to one of: a form service such as Formspree or Basin (fastest, no server needed), a Google Form embedded in this page (free, and submissions land in a spreadsheet), or a proper backend if you want everything inside your own system. Whoever receives the submissions must be named as the person responsible under the Data Privacy Act.
